BabyLive for hospitals
Cameramanager.com provided (together with Vodafone) the Catharina Hospital in Eindhoven with a Baby Mobile solution. Parents of new born babys, which have to stay in the incubator, get a mobile phone which gives them access to live video of their baby 24/7 anywhere in the world.
Ronald Spanjers, initiator of the project, recommends the solution to all hospitals. It is an extra service towards the customer and a service with a very high quality! Parents need to have 24/7 contact to their new born child.
With Cameramanager.com the nurses at the baby incubator department can watch if everything is ok with the baby. Parents use the same tool to view their baby from home.
For mobile broadband a mobile inernet connection is being used. UMTS / HSDPA are widely accepted and available in the Netherlands.
When the baby is being taken to the incubator the parents get a mobile phone which they can use to watch their baby for free (Vodafone Netherlands Foundation made this possible). Technologically it is possible to use the mobile phone of the parents in future. The only thing they need is Internet access on their mobile phone.
